Extra-Curricular

Beyond the Classroom

At Breaside Preparatory School, we believe that education extends beyond the classroom. Our extra-curricular program is a testament to our commitment to providing a well-rounded education for our pupils. Through a diverse range of activities and clubs, we encourage our pupils to explore their interests, develop new skills, and build lifelong friendships.

Whether it's sports, music, drama, or academic enrichment, our extra-curricular offerings cater to a wide spectrum of interests and talents.

Clubs & Activities

We offer a wide range of clubs and activities that complement the school curriculum. Children across all our key stages are encouraged to participate in our clubs.

School Trips

Exploring Beyond the Classroom

We believe that learning does not just take place within the classroom and a variety of trips to places of interest are organised for each year group throughout the year.

In Year 5, the pupils are offered the opportunity of taking part in an activities week in Dorset, where they can try a variety of outward-bound activities. The Year 6 trip to France gives our pupils the opportunity to practise their language skill as well as continue their outdoor pursuits.

It's a small, caring, academic school which also provides excellent physical education and pastoral care. Great headmistress and teachers.

Instrumental lessons

Instrumental and Vocal Tuition at Breaside

Over 180 students receive instrumental or vocal lessons each week at Breaside and we have a large team of experienced specialist music teachers. Lessons are either provided by staff from Bromley Youth Music Trust (known as BYMT) or by self-employed visiting music teachers.

Lessons take place during the school day. Pupils come out of lessons to attend, but the timetable is worked out on a rotation basis so they do not miss the same lesson each week.

We are currently able to offer individual lessons to pupils who are in Years 1-6 on the following instruments:

Strings WoodwindBrass
Violin FluteTrumpet
Guitar SaxophoneCornet
Cello ClarinetTrombone
Viola RecorderBaritone

Other instruments include: Drums and Piano
